F.A.S.T. = Fast And Smooth Transition
The modular F.A.S.T. System is the fastest reloading device in the world. It allows the operator to negotiate continuous sub-2 second reloads while keeping their weapon and eyes trained on the
threat. Muscle memory is accomplished in a very short period of time. In an After Actions Report submitted by US Special Forces while having worn the F.A.S.T. System in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, one operator reported, “The ST-1 F.A.S.T. System performed with outstanding results. The efficiency, function-ability and quickened reload times of the ST-1 F.A.S.T. System enhanced the operator’s lethality in combat.”
Each F.A.S.T. System is completely ambidextrous and can hold up to 3 standard M-4 magazines. An optional adaptor will be available that will increase this capacity to 4 standard M-4 magazines.
Sub 2-Second reloads can be achieved regardless of which side the unit is carried and regardless of which hand the operator uses – weak or strong hand. The same US Special Forces Operator
reported, “The ST-1 F.A.S.T. System’s design greatly enhanced this operator’s reload time in a controlled environment from 2.8 seconds to 1.7 seconds.” This operator was able to shave over a full second off his reload time after practicing with the F.A.S.T. System for only 10 minutes.
Each ambidextrous carrier is made of 1000D nylon, manufactured by U.S. based Eagle Industries. The hardened F.A.S.T. System, manufactured by U.S. based Wilcox Industries, is made from high impact material and is covered by a lifetime warranty (excluding spring and mounting hardware).
The spring in the F.A.S.T. System is a specially designed, high stress box spring, made from stainless steel. The US Special Forces Operator reported, “Never once did the ST-1 F.A.S.T. System fail the operator during combat or training”. The F.A.S.T System utilizes drainage holes, and a seated follower to prevent debris from entering. Future F.A.S.T Systems will be available to accommodate various magazine fed weapons.
