Guide to Japan Militaria Stores/Surplus

Author: Beta-TNT (Webmaster)

This spring festival, I and my family planned a 15 days long trip in Japan. We started from Tokyo, then Fujiyama, Matsumoto, Nala, Osaka, Kyoto, Kumamoto, Okinawa. And took return flight back to Beijing from Okinawa.

As we all know, Japan militaria market started much earlier and much more bigger than us China, that was mainly because US military bases and facilities after WWII. As a militaria collector, I cannot miss this great opportunity. After I did a fully investigation, we set out with a long shopping list.

Thanks to the busy schedule, we didn’t stay long in Tokyo, I only had time for the famous Nakata shop (even no time for Akiba and Shibuya!). But I was disappointed when I made my way there. Most goods on sale were something like Rothco, Alpha, J-TECH (a Taiwan replica brand), Tru-Spec and China or local made replica. The real and genius things were disposed at corners and you had to rummage. I found some brand new suspenders like M-1945, M-1956 and M-1967.

I chatted with one of staffs, and bought a pair of M-1945 suspenders, the staff gave me a DDR uniform tie as gift.

Nakata shop have two shopfront, the staff will inform you another one’s location when you find one.

2016-02-05 DAY 0

20160205_185040

2016-02-06 DAY 1

2016-02-07(除夕) DAY 2

20160207_201529

2016-02-08(新年) DAY 3

20160208_155138

2016-02-09 DAY 4

2016-02-10 DAY 5

2016-02-11 DAY 6

2016-02-12 DAY 7

Something interesting…

20160213_213019

2016-02-14 DAY 9

2016-02-15 DAY 10

2016-02-16 DAY 11

2016-02-17 DAY 12
